Approximately 75 people, mainly adult content producers, met last week to discuss the ever growing problem of their content being stolen by Torrent Sites. They created the AntiPiracyBoard and will explore options, legal or not, to try to protect their content at all cost. This is not going to be an easy fight. The MPAA and RIAA haven't accomplished much against these sites in the past.
The problems facing the adult industry is much the same as thoes that the movie and music industry have been fighting for years... A little sample is fine, but they can't afford to give it all away. The problem is affecting not only content producers but affiliate programs and webmasters who advertise for adult affiliate programs. It is becoming increasing common that when a potential customer clicks on your advertisement for a particular site, he will search for your full length videos on torrent sites instead of signing up through you and paying to see them. By doing so the affiliate who is paying for the traffic doesn't make the sale, the affiliate company makes less sales and less money, the less money they make the less new content they purchase. This in turn hurts the content producers who's content is being devalued and their sales are decreasing due to the overall decrease in paying customers.
